The fact that today is Earth Day brings to mind the question of “What are you doing to improve the world?”
Sometimes even the little things help a lot – like holding a door for someone or letting the car next to you in traffic merge. We all should be thinking of how to make this world a better place, not just for Earth Day but every day. After all, we live here. You take care of your house or apartment, so why not take care of the rest of the world you live in as well?
For me, I try to do the little things every day, but while it does a bit of good, it doesn’t satisfy my hunger to make this truly a great place to live. I always find myself wanting to do more. Rather than crying, “That’s wrong! Blame John Doe!” I like to yell out “That’s wrong! How can we fix it?”
Now, I don’t have a lot of money or fame, and those don’t matter so much as what I can do with them. I look around and think, “If only I had some sway I could do good for the world.” And it occurred to me that I could run for office. The job of US Senator is a tough one but one which does have enough power to actually make a difference to a lot of people. It isn’t the power I care about though. It’s the making a difference.
That’s why I’m running for US Senate. I want to make a difference and make this a better place to live for all of us.
So what are you doing? Do you have a special way you are improving the world we live in? Has someone made your life better in a way which can inspire others? Let me know. Let’s spread the word and make this an even better place to live.
Will you Join Me?
